The Conley RAID Manager Utilities are high-level software that allowsusers to setup, monitor, broadcast status, and rebuild disk arraysubsystems on a network through a graphical user interface.The Setup Utility enables the user to configure multiple logical units(LUNs) and implement UC Berkeley's RAID levels 0,1,3, or 5 on theindividuals LUNs. Many other features include options for customizingstriping segment and block sizes, reconstructing failed drives in thebackground, and altering the rebuild rate for replaced drives.The Monitor Utility runs a demon in the background to check the status ofthe array. The check frequency can be customized by the user.The Broadcast Utility notifies one or all users on the network in theevent of a failed component or degraded status of the array. The user cancustomize the method of broadcast from a blinking icon to calling anetwork manager's beeper.The software currently runs on SunOS 4.1.3 and Solaris 2.2. The softwareis designed to interface with the NCR array controller and is easilymodified to work with your intelligent array controller.
